Research
The ongoing advances and technical developments in the automotive surrounding change the way we live and work. These unprecedented changes do also open up new and enriching opportunities for management accountants. For example, a car company may have large data sets on the usage behavior of their modern clients. So-called “features on demand” (FOD) enable a customer to unlock a certain feature that ease their everyday life. A typical FOD can be of a hardware (e.g. seat heating) or software-type (e.g. voice assistant) and enables a customer a useful advantage. However, the applicability of FOD in management accounting is limited. Hence, I am interested in FoD and its (financial) applications within different industries.
